It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that The American English family announces the passing of our beloved Rick Stang. For over 20 years Rick was our road manager, guitar tech, driver and close friend. He was the kindest person with the most friendly smile and gentle heart. A fine musician and talent himself, he was the very engine of the band and part of our spirit. His love for the music of The Beatles and rock n roll will stay with us forever.
May He Rest In Peace.
Friends & Fans,
Please join us all in the American English family as we give a huge and heartfelt thank you and send best wishes to our own, Tommy Gable, “Ringo”. After 25 years of being our absolute rock, our backbeat, Tom is retiring from the band. It is impossible to find the right words to express how much he has meant to us all. We can only thank him for so many great moments of joy that he has brought to his bandmates and Beatles fans alike. Tom started with the band in 1994 and has portrayed the lovable drummer all over the world. He will be missed and we wish him the very best of luck. Let’s all congratulate him on his well deserved retirement!
Bittersweet as this moment is, we would like to formally welcome the outstanding talent that is Tony Giangreco to the band! Tony has literally learned to play drums listening to Beatles records and watching Tommy play. He’s a natural fit and brings an unbelievable passion and spirit to the role of “Ringo”. Over the last weeks we auditioned a number of drummers and Tony rose to the top in quick order. He’s already a veteran of the Chicago music scene and an experienced Beatles tribute artist. We are lucky and blessed to have him!
Here’s to a great fall and winter season and we look forward to an absolutely FAB YEAR 2020!
